Bates Wells leads way in Charity Finance legal fees survey

Bates Wells has been ranked first in Charity Finance’s annual legal fees survey as the UK law firm with the highest number of large charity clients.

In a wide-ranging and exhaustive review of the charity sector’s legal partners, the Charity Finance team also affirmed BWB’s status as a Band 1 charity law firm (according to Chambers and Partners) and quoted Philip Kirkpatrick, partner and head of charity and social enterprise, extensively throughout their research.

Speaking to Charity Finance, Kirkpatrick notes that “Our clients come to us because of our reputation for expertise and high quality service. They would not return if they did not receive it and we rely on our reputation absolutely to maintain and grow our business.”

The survey also takes into account the wide range of pro bono work done by BWB, and refers to the fact that “pro bono work has always been at the heart of BWB’s ethos”.
