The piece also explains how migrants in the UK are affected by various changes in legislation that have occurred over the past year. In particular, she focuses on how as of October 2017, “banks [are required] to carry out quarterly checks in relation to individuals who hold specified accounts with certain financial institutions in the United Kingdom and to extend the checks that must be undertaken for new accounts”.
