Chetal Patel writes for LexisNexis: Home Office to scrap removal targets

Chetal Patel, Partner in our Immigration department, has written an article for LexisNexis on how the Home Office is to scrap removal targets, but net migration reduction plans still remain.


In the article, Chetal highlights the ‘fluffy language’ used in the guidance offered to those affected by the Windrush scandal, in order to ‘soften’ a PR blow. She notes that the remaining requirement to demonstrate rights to be in the UK is a ‘proportionate measure to maintain effective immigration control…in line with the government’s aim of reducing net migration’.
