Malcolm brings over twenty years of experience to the firm and in his new role he will be advising primarily on commercial property and real estate finance matters. With clients that include corporate occupiers and major investors, Malcolm will bring a wealth of industry knowledge to our already-successful Real Estate practice.
Malcolm joins BWB from Gowling WLG where he worked as a member of the firm’s Real Estate team for over a decade. Prior to his career at Gowling WLG Malcolm worked at Faegre & Benson and Hobson Audley, and his arrival at BWB brings the firm’s partner headcount to 38.
His appointment follows a prolonged period of firmwide growth in both turnover and headcount on the part of BWB, and comes after the recent promotion of Augustus Della-Porta (Charity & Social Enterprise), Karli Hiscock (Real Estate) and Chetal Patel (Immigration) to the partnership.
Responding to today’s news, Martin Bunch, managing partner, BWB said:
“At a time of continuing growth across the firm, we feel that now is the time to expand the capabilities of our successful Real Estate team.
“Malcolm’s experience of commercial property and real estate finance will have a significant positive impact on our ability to win work in each of these areas, further improve our offering and service to clients and his appointment will also help us to meet the goals set out in our 2020 Strategy.
“We are pleased to announce his appointment and we look forward to welcoming him to the firm in due course”.
Malcolm Headley, partner, Bates Wells Braithwaite said:
“BWB has a strong real estate offer, a diverse client base and ambitious growth plans.
“In addition BWB’s culture, its commitment to its people, and the way in which it embraces its purpose and values, makes BWB distinct from other City firms.
“It is an exciting time to be joining and I look forward to helping deliver further growth.”
