B Corps and impact investing: Luke Fletcher speaks to Private Equity Wire

Insights from Luke Fletcher, partner in Bates Wells’ Charity & Social Enterprise team, have been featured in Private Equity’s take on the relevance of B Corp status for the private equity sector.

The piece explores how, although the B Corp certification process is a challenging one, the robust nature of its assessment process is increasing interest in the B Corp community among small businesses and large corporates alike.

In this article Luke offers his own thoughts on the rise of the B Corp movement, the positive consequences of this for impact investing and how he defines the Impact Economy. Luke says that “I would describe the impact economy as an emerging market within a developed market context. From our client base, which includes a wide range of investors, there is a lot of interest and a lot of capital looking for impact investing opportunities.”
