People Management: Chetal Patel blogs on latest immigration figures

Chetal Patel, partner at Bates Wells has written on the conclusions that employers can draw from the publication of the government’s latest immigration statistics, which indicate a decline in the level of inward migration from the EU.

Noting that EU migration has declined significantly since 2016, Chetal covers a range of questions which employers continue to puzzle over in the run-up to this year’s General Election.

She writes chiefly on how there is a lack of clarity about the future shape of the UK’s immigration system, and that this is causing problems for employers, who are keen to establish what a future points based system (PBS) may look like.
