Holidays and furloughed employees

With the Easter weekend almost upon us, many people may be asking questions as to how this affects employees on furlough.

Please see our latest update on the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme here.

Employees and employers alike may be asking themselves that if they or their employee has a scheduled holiday or there is a bank holiday coming up while they are on furlough, are they still entitled to this holiday?

The answer is yes. Employers must ensure that all furloughed employees on holiday or a bank holiday are paid their full salary for that period of holiday.

If you have any questions on this, or the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme in general, our Employment team are on hand and ready to answer your questions. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
