Bates Wells’ M&A team advices AIM quoted CentralNic Group PLC on its acquisition of the international domain name retailer Ideegeo Group Ltd

Bates Wells’ M&A team acted for CentralNic Group PLC (“CentralNic”), the global internet platform that derives revenue from the subscription sales of internet domain names, on the acquisition of the entire share capital of Ideegeo Group Limited, a privately owned domain name retailer serving an international customer base from New Zealand for NZ$5.2 million.

Commenting on the acquisition, Ben Crawford, CEO of CentralNic, said: “The acquisition of Ideegeo adds more to CentralNic’s retail group than additional earnings, customers and synergies. Its leading User Interface and Customer Engagement solutions, and the team that created them, represent a further differentiator for CentralNic’s global retail business from the competition to support our organic growth.”

Don Baladasan, MD of CentralNic said “We were once again pleased to be supported by the Bates Wells team, who worked tirelessly to meet the transaction deadline and provided us with clear and pragmatic advice throughout.”

The acquisition is Bates Wells’ second transaction for CentralNic and was completed hours after Bates Wells had acted on CentralNic’s successful acquisition of Hexonet Group.  The transaction demonstrates Bates Wells’ experience and ability to work on across multiple jurisdictions on international M&A transactions and our continued growth within the technology sector.

Bates Wells’ corporate team was led by Stephen Callender (Partner) supported by Matthew Gearing (Senior Associate) and Edward Reardon  (Solicitor).
