What happened?

Social Enterprise Coalition CIC, better known as Social Enterprise UK (SEUK) is the largest network of social enterprises in the UK.

We had initially drafted SEUK’s memorandum and articles of association in 2014.

In 2019 we were instructed to amend SEUK’s articles to reflect the needs of a recent governance review, prompted by SEUK’s large growth in membership over the previous few years.

How did we help?

We advised SEUK on its options in relation to its governance structure and its AGM, and then amended its articles of association and helped draft new resolutions, which were passed at their AGM.

We also attended the AGM in order to field any technical questions that might have arisen in relation to the proposed changes.

As a longstanding client and partner organisation of Bates Wells, we provided all of this advice to SEUK pro bono.

I found the service provided professional, informative and friendly. I particularly appreciated how speedily you dealt with everything and your succinct emails, free from unnecessary legal verbiage. The whole process was made incredibly easy and thanks to the service you provided
