Personal data and Freedom of Information requests - the essentials

The Data Protection Act and the Freedom of Information Act have potentially far reaching consequences for schools. This session aims to set out what schools' obligations are in relation to these acts and, equally importantly, what exemptions apply. By the end of the session, participants should have a grasp of the basic principles of both acts, and, ideas about compliance strategies to ensure that data is handled lawfully and that schools are prepared for the type of disclosure that might be required of them.

Admissions - A practical guide to lawfully managing admissions

This session aims to provide a detailed and practical overview of the law relating to admissions. Our special guest speaker will be James Cornwell of 11KBW, a barrister and expert on admissions.
