SITR has been introduced by the government to stimulate the social investment market. It provides certain tax reliefs for individuals who invest into qualifying social enterprises. The intended expansion of SITR will be likely to dramatically increase the investor uptake of social investment and make it a highly valuable source of funding for social enterprises and charities.
