A crisis in charitable fundraising?

In the wake of high profile media reports into charitable fundraising practices, we examine the recommendations of the reviews carried out by Sir Stuart Etherington and the Institute of Fundraising. This seminar will:

  • consider high profile legal issues in relation to fundraising including sharing of personal data, consent for direct marketing, use of historical databases, reasonable persuasion, high volumes of requests and vulnerable supporters; and
  • assess the legal and regulatory framework including data protection law, charity law and the Institute of Fundraising code and consider what changes may need to be made in practice in order to comply with the law in future.

There will also be a question and answer session for our panel of lawyers.
