Managing poor performance

Where it has come to your attention that an employee is not performing to the expected level or standard it will be necessary to intervene with a view to helping the employee achieve that which is required. Your intervention should not therefore be focused on removal. Good and timely performance management helps to ensure that employees are positively contributing to the goals of the organisation as a whole and reduces the chance of employment tribunal claims if (with regret) you need to dismiss.
