On 22 October 2019, the Charity Commission published an updated version of the guidance 'Safeguarding and protecting people for charities and trustees', which can be found here, the aim of which was to give more practical guidance to charities rather than merely set out what policies and procedures are required.
With that in mind, we will be exploring the changes at the roundtable and how you are finding the new guidance - helpful or just more onerous? - and the changes (if any) you have made/are considering making to your organisation's current safeguarding arrangements.
As before, the meetings will be held under Chatham House rules, over a glass of wine/cup of tea (as you prefer).
This will be an opportunity to discuss your concerns and experiences with peers. While this will not be a formal training session, Bates Wells will also be sharing its collective thoughts on the new guidance and we hope the discussion and shared experiences will enable your organisation to consider whether it should review its safeguarding practices.
5.00pm: Registration with refreshments
