Event Summary

In light of the media attention in relation to donations to charities from the Presidents’ Club and the Sackler family, and following on from our session at last year’s Institute of Legacy Management Annual Conference, we will take a fresh look at ethical and reputational issues in relation to legacies and refusing and returning legacies.

As well as a rundown of the issues and current legal and regulatory landscape, we will offer practical tips and guidance on best practice including gift acceptance policies.

We are delighted to be joined by guest speakers from two leading charities and from Civil Society, offering their own insight and experiences.

The session will conclude with a panel discussion with our speakers, including an opportunity for Q&A.

If you have any particular issue relating to legacies and reputational risk, we invite you to send them to us before the session and we will try to cover as many as possible.

Why choose this seminar and who should attend

The seminar is aimed at legacy professionals and others at charities who deal with more difficult or complicated legacies and who are seeking training and guidance on legacies that come with ethical issues and reputational risks.

Bates Wells’ legacy events are very popular and often over-subscribed, so we recommend early registration to avoid disappointment. We will confirm places shortly.
