Experience

I have devoted my career to working in areas of law which directly affect people’s lives, starting in child protection law and then working across adult social care, health, education and social housing and charities.

Currently my focus is on all types of state education from early years to adult education and this includes safeguarding work, information law and commercial and project work in these areas. I have worked in local government and private practice for 30 years now and use my breadth of experience to benefit my clients and the communities they serve.

Highlights

  • I provided due diligence and commercial project advice to successfully complete the merger of several pairs of further education and sixth form colleges

In response to the FE commissioner’s area review recommendations or as a result of previously successful collaboration work.

  • I provided complex safeguarding, governance and risk advice to an education charity with an international network of schools

Including policy work and contractual advice, the Serious Incident Reporting Regime and reputational issues.

  • I dealt with a tranche of rebrokeraged academy transfers for a long standing Multi Academy trust client

Enabling them to protect and improve the education of several thousands of children by accepting them into their successful family of schools.

  • I offer GDPR compliance advice
  • I advise on children and adult safeguarding
  • I advise on OfS registration and Degree Awarding Powers
  • I assist with commercial transfer agreements, funding agreements, managed services contracts between academy trusts, shared use agreements
