Experience

I’m a chartered accountant with a background in corporate finance. I help clients to plan and deliver transactions including acquisitions, sales, mergers and partnerships such as joint ventures.

I have in-depth experience of a range of sectors including social care, education and skills, health, leisure and fitness, housing, renewable energy, arts and creative industries.

 I work with clients seeking to raise finance for growth and to acquire assets. My particular areas of expertise include management of transaction processes, business and intangible asset valuations, financial modelling, risk analysis and financial due diligence.

I have worked with charities, social enterprises and corporates across a range of sectors including social care, health, manufacturing, retail, leisure, education, children’s services and housing.

Recent projects

  • I Advised CITB on the sale of its Cskills Awards regulated qualification awarding organisation business and the Construction Plant Competence Scheme.

    Both transactions supported CITB’s planned change of strategic focus, whilst seeking to ensure that the businesses continue to operate for the long term benefit of the Construction Industry in the UK.

  • I advised HCT Group on the acquisition of Powells Bus and Impact Group during 2018.

    I led the team providing financial due diligence and buy-side financial advisory services, with both transactions completing during summer 2018.

  • I advised a UK-based charity on the valuation of its Intellectual Property, including branded media properties, as part of an international joint venture involving the use of that IPR.

Pro bono, memberships, and appointments

  • I am a trustee at the National Association of Independent Schools and Non-Maintained Special Schools (NASS), a membership organisation that works with an for specials schools in the independent, voluntary and private sectors in the UK. I was appointed treasurer in October 2018.
