I am a corporate and commercial lawyer with 35 years’ experience in EU and UK competition law, international trade law, utility regulation and public and administration law practised in Brussels for 12 years. I am recommended by Chambers and Legal 500, and appear in the 2021 edition of Best Lawyers in the UK.

  • I give advice to international trade associations on the application of the EU rules
  • I advise on EU trade law – work here includes giving advice to third country exporters from the Far East, North America and Eastern Europe threatened by anti-dumping duties; advice to non-EU governments on the application of the EU Trade Law Rules
  • I advise on UK competition law – this includes advice on investigations into a variety of industries, such as engineering, geographic information (mapping) and telecommunications
  • I advise on telecommunications – this includes acting for 'second tier' telecoms operators (resellers) on all commercial aspects of their operations, including regulation of them
  • I advised OFCOM on the detailed rules for unbundling the local loop (LLU)
  • I give advice on utility regulation – this includes advice on the use of slots at congested UK airports; acting for a UK gas and electricity regulator on both competition law and public law issues; and advice to a major water utility on its public obligations
