I have specialised in professional regulatory work for over nine years. I am highly experienced in the investigation of matters of professional misconduct, and work to prepare such cases for hearing before disciplinary committees and tribunals.

I have experience of working in the human healthcare, veterinary, farriery and legal sectors. I have acted on behalf of statutory and voluntary regulators, and also represented individuals facing investigation by their regulators.

  • I took the lead in an investigation against two registrants of a regulator where the allegations of misconduct arose from the same series of events and covered deficient clinical care, dishonesty and inadequate record keeping.
  • I advised a non-statutory regulator in relation to a series of clinical failings by a healthcare practitioner, where there were also concerns that the registrant had endangered the patient’s life.
  • I defended a healthcare professional facing allegations that he had engaged in inappropriate sexual behaviour whilst at work.
  • I assisted a regulator in defending an appeal to the High Court brought by a registrant in the first such appeal under the relevant statutory regime
