I am a solicitor in the Commercial team at Bates Wells. I specialise in advising clients on commercial, media and technology contracts.
I am particularly interested in the healthcare, medtech, media and sport sectors.
I advise a wide range of clients including tech start-ups, a multinational pharmaceutical company and several household technology and media brands. I also sit on the firm’s Health and Social Care Sector Group.
My background is in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry. Before becoming a lawyer I worked for six years in policy and communications roles advising pharmaceutical companies, charities and third sector organisations, as part of several award-winning teams.
My client was licensing brand and marketing rights for promotional activities regarding an international sporting tournament being held in the UK in 2019. I advised the client on key commercial considerations and negotiated with licence agreement with the other side, the tournament organiser and a major sporting governing body.
My client was a medtech start-up seeking to expand into the Chinese market. I advised the client on practical considerations around the license of IP rights in a medical device to a company based in China and produced a licence and manufacturing agreement to meet the client’s requirements.
My client was a global not-for-profit requiring a data management software solution, to manage a multitude of data showing the supply chain for the illegal arms trade. I advised on the procurement of the software, successfully negotiating a complex master services agreement to address the client’s needs.
