Changes to the requirements for international data transfers out of the UK came into effect on 21 March. If your organisation transfers personal data outside of the UK (including to any service providers or other processors), or wishes to do so in the future, you may need to take action to ensure you stay compliant with the law. In this session, we explain the changes coming into effect and outline the practical steps you can take to make sure that you stay on top of the new requirements and implement any changes in a way that makes most sense to your organisation.

During this session, we will provide an update on the recent changes to the international data transfer regime in the UK. In particular, we will cover:

  • the background and context relating to international data transfers;
  • the key changes, including the UK’s new International Data Transfer Agreement and Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses;
  • practical steps organisations should take when transferring personal data outside of the UK.
