At Bates Wells, we think beyond legal matters to ensure the work we’re doing helps our clients to create long-term positive impact, even after a solution has been achieved.

We recently worked with fellow B Corp Triodos Bank to secure a loan for Heal Rewilding, which has now acquired its first landholding of 460 acres in Somerset where it will create a new nature reserve. The £5.25m site aims to tackle the biodiversity and climate crises while creating new jobs and work for local tradespeople and businesses.

Malcolm Headley, Partner at Bates Wells, helped to navigate interesting issues around water and access rights for Heal Rewilding to secure the land.

Triodos commented: “Collaborating with Bates Wells helped us to improve our supply chain while working with like-minded lawyers and a purpose-driven organisation.” Read more about the rewilding project and how it will improve biodiversity on the Triodos website.
