I am a Senior Associate in the Employment Team at Bates Wells. I qualified as a Solicitor in September 2018 and have previously worked for a Legal 500 top ranked Employment Team.

Highlights
  • Supporting an organisation in defending a complex whistleblowing claim in the Employment Tribunal, which also involved several other interlinked claims relating to trade unions, breach of confidence and defamation.
  • Assisting a client with next steps, including possible disciplinary proceedings and/or suspension following a complex external HR investigation which spanned over 15 years and implicated several senior employees.
  • Advising a client on a possible sexual harassment claim and whether this required a serious incident report to the Charity Commission.
  • Preparing a response letter for a client where one of their recent recruits was accused of breaching the post-termination restrictions contained in their previous employer’s employment contract.
  • Reviewing and advising a client on a proposed contractual retention scheme specifically aimed at retaining key individuals over a relatively short period of time.
  • Supporting an organisation in defending a number of complex discrimination claims in the Employment Tribunal, which had been brought by existing employees.
  • Advising education clients on the nuances of entering into settlement agreements and providing references in line with statutory obligations and safeguarding guidance.
  • Supporting an organisation in defending a constructive dismissal claim where employee claimed to be a whistleblower.
  • Advising an organisation on how to navigate a consultation process with staff to change their terms and conditions where the organisation needed to cut its spending in order to avoid redundancies.
  • Advising a client on a possible sexual harassment claim and the possibility of advancing the defence that they had taken all reasonable steps to prevent this.
  • Advising a senior executive in the financial services sector regarding their exit, including negotiating a favourable settlement that preserved future FCA-regulated career prospects.
  • Advised a senior sales executive in a complex employment dispute involving a six-figure unpaid commission claim, resulting in a favourable settlement following Tribunal proceedings.[
