Bates Wells has always strived to make a difference. Since 1970, we have been using the law as a force for good.
A big part of how we can make a positive impact comes down to the clients we act for, the matters we advise them on and how we go about it. We want to work with more people who are making a positive difference. We want them to know our aspirations and goals align with theirs.
Our Sustainability and Responsibility Pledge highlights our continuing commitment to act with integrity and honesty. This step formally acknowledges what we’ve been practising for some time – supporting the emergence of progressive, new ways of working and interacting, and similarly, scaling back those aspects of the existing system that are harmful to us collectively.
We know we cannot immediately implement all aspects of the changes we wish to achieve, but we will be constant in our drive towards genuine sustainable and responsible legal practice, and will seek to achieve meaningful improvement year on year.
Our hope is that the pledge is a vessel to make more of a positive impact, and help our clients do the same. Little steps, big impact.
