A media company with a Tier 2 sponsor licence underwent a company restructure which resulted in a change in direct ownership of the business. The new owner was then required to apply for a sponsor licence in order to continue employing any Tier 2 sponsored workers.

How did we help?

There were various moving parts involved so we provided strategic advice to both the media company and the new owner, helping them navigate the strict reporting and application deadlines. We helped the new owner to prepare and submit a sponsor licence application within a short timeframe to ensure the application deadline was met. Meanwhile, we also assisted the media company with making the necessary reports to UKVI regarding the transfer of its sponsored workers and to make its licence dormant. The sponsor licence application was approved and the Tier 2 sponsored workers were successfully transferred by TUPE from the media company to the new owner’s sponsor licence which ensured they could continue lawfully employing the individuals.
