I am a public and regulatory lawyer with expertise advising public sector and commercial organisations. With experience working in-house for regulated entities, I have a good understanding of what clients need and expect when instructing external solicitors. I seek to give practical legal advice that takes into account whatever strategic and operational issues the client faces.
Across a range of sectors including retail, technology, education, health and social care, entertainment and sport, I advise corporate bodies, public bodies, statutory regulators, voluntary regulators, Royal Charter organisations, private members organisations and charities.
I advise public sector bodies on the full range of public law issues including statutory interpretation, lawful use of powers, discharge of duties and good decision making.
I support clients that are conducting internal investigations, carrying out regulatory audits and reviewing and reforming governance arrangements. With expertise in drafting, I work closely with policy experts to assist with the development of policy and reflecting policy changes in amendments to rules, regulations, procedures, policies and other documentation. I assist clients with running consultations and also provide support to clients responding to consultations.
I advise both regulators and regulated entities on the conduct of regulatory investigations; on each occasion working to achieve the best strategic outcome for my client. I have advised clients both on making and defending applications for judicial review and I also have experience in procurement litigation.
I have a deep understanding of the legislation governing public inquiries and my experience in this realm includes advising high profile Core Participant organisations on all aspects of their participation in inquiries.
I have a keen interest in new and developing regulation. Having worked as an in-house lawyer for a content sharing platform, I am particularly interested in the regulation of tech, content platforms and social media.
- Advising a content sharing platform on the Online Safety Act and the EU Audiovisual Media Services Directive as well as the ICO's Children's Code (also known as the Age Appropriate Design Code) including conducting risk assessments and advising product teams in readiness for these new regulatory schemes.

- Drafting amendments to the Rules and Regulations for a Royal Charter organisation.
- Advising a union and professional body client on intervention into Supreme Court proceedings.
- Preparing responses to requests for information from national and European competition regulators.
- Advising an Awarding Organisation in respect of Ofqual enforcement action.
- Delivering training to colleagues and clients on issues including legal privilege, regulatory investigations, public inquiries and new regulation in content platforms and social media.
