Highlights
  • Successfully represented the Uber drivers in the Supreme Court in the case of Uber & Others v (1) Yaseen Aslam (2) James Farrar (3) Robert Dawson & Others (a landmark case concerning the employment status of uber drivers) which was reported internationally. In connection with this case I appeared on The BBC News, ITV News, Channel 4 News and was quoted in a number of publications including The Financial Times and Wired.
  • Defended a high value claim for breach of employment contract in respect of shareholdings.
  • Advise companies and individuals on grievances and disciplinary procedures, age and sex discrimination, harassment, victimisation and unfair dismissal claims.
  • Advise companies with re-organisations, redundancies and handling dismissals.
  • Negotiate agreed exits and settlement agreements on behalf of both individuals and employers.
  • Advised an international company on handling an extensive and complex grievance and grievance appeal process involving over thirty complaints relating to equal pay issues as well as allegations of discrimination, harassment, victimisation and whistleblowing complaints. The matter was resolved without litigation.
  • Advised a charity on the handling and resolution of a dispute between the Chief Executive and the Board.
  • Advised the former CEO of a listed company on his restrictive covenants and negotiated contracts for CEO roles and NED roles including acquiring equity.
  • Advised the CFO of a financial institution on his departure terms.
