Insights from Paul Seath, partner in our employment team, have been featured in People Management’s coverage of the government’s Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme.

Please see our latest update on the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme here.

Speaking to the publication, Paul explained how the scheme is ‘extremely welcome and will undoubtedly save many jobs’, but highlighted the need for greater clarity from the government with respect to how it will work in practical terms.

Paul also identified how there is a question mark over whether the scheme has ‘sufficient controls in place to ensure that employers do not claim to have furloughed staff, and so claim the wages, when in fact those staff continue working’.

This coverage coincides with a series of webinars held by Paul, the latest of which provides an update on developments in relation to the scheme. This session will take place today (31 March) at 2pm and you can still attend by registering here prior to the start time.
