Bates Wells has been appointed to the Crescent Purchasing Consortium (CPC) legal services panel, enabling education organisations across the UK to access the firm’s specialist legal advice through a compliant and streamlined procurement route.

CPC is a national procurement framework supporting the education sector and wider public sector, including maintained schools, academies, multi‑academy trusts (MATs), colleges and education‑focused charities.

The appointment reflects the strength and breadth of Bates Wells’ education practice and its holistic understanding of the sector. The firm advises nurseries, schools, colleges, universities and education charities, including many organisations supporting children and adults with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Members of the Education Group also bring first‑hand sector experience, with roles as governors and trustees of schools, MATs and colleges, as well as trustees of educational charities.

Jean Tsang, Partner and Head of Education at Bates Wells, commented:

“This appointment reflects our continued work across the education sector, supporting organisations as they address evolving challenges including funding pressures, safeguarding, Equality Act considerations and the impact of new AI technologies. The Crescent Purchasing Consortium legal services panel provides organisations in the education sector with access to legal support that is pragmatic, proportionate and focused on long‑term sustainability. Through our work, we seek to make a positive impact and to influence social change in law, policy and practice.”
