Experience

I am a Senior Knowledge Lawyer in the Charity and Social Enterprise team. I track, analyse and share developments in charity law and keep the Charity and Social Enterprise team’s resources up to date.

Prior to joining Bates Wells in 2025, I studied chemistry at Imperial College London before completing the law conversion course. I then trained and worked at the City of London Corporation for over ten years where I specialised in charities.

Highlights
  • I have advised numerous charities on various constitutional and governance matters, including updating governing documents and policies in line with current law and best practice.
  • I have particularly enjoyed advising on historic and medieval charities and engaging with the complexities of applying modern charity law to historic governing documents.
  • Since joining Bates Wells, the final provisions of the Charities Act 2022 have come into force, and I have updated the teams’ resources on ex gratia payments.
