I specialise in Impact Finance, having joined Bates Wells in 2023. Before this I worked as a real estate finance lawyer at Herbert Smith Freehills LLP and trained at the same firm.
I act for banks, investors and borrowers including charities and purposeful businesses and have acted in multi-party syndicated transactions as well as smaller bilateral facilities.
- I have acted for borrowers and lenders on a broad range of real estate investment and development financings for primarily commercial portfolios.
- I have advised on cross-border syndicated lending transactions focusing on Europe but also including the US, Malaysia and Singapore.
- I have acted on both the lender and borrower side on green loan financings.
- I advised a charity on a financing transaction and governance issues.
- I have drafted a template grant agreement for a funder to use on a range of international grants with a particular focus on equalising the balance of power between funder and the grant recipient in investment terms and legal documentation.
