Highlights
  • I have successfully resisted a multi-million pound dilapidations claim on behalf of a public sector client following on from their vacation of a central London office block.
  • I have acted in several Upper Lands Tribunal claims arising out of the compulsory acquisition of land following on from a Compulsory Purchase Order / Development Consent Order.
  • Obtaining possession of land occupied by trespassers for a period of over 3 years on behalf of a long leaseholder whilst defending a claim for breach of covenant made against the leaseholder by the freeholder.
  • Advising on and dealing with the large scale decant of a multi occupied commercial premises on behalf of a Local Authority, following on from the identification of fire safety issues and dealing with the claims made by the tenant arising out of breach of quiet enjoyment covenant on the part of the landlord.
  • Dealing with a contested lease renewal where part of the original demise had been transferred to a 3rd party just after the Section 26 Notice was served and dealing with the proceedings which became very contentious and during which a further part of the original demise was disposed of to a second 3rd party.
  • I have advised on and successfully dealt with a number of judicial reviews arising out of planning decisions and one arising from a Local Authority’s decision on a claim by a client for Empty Rates Relief on a commercial premises which was worth in excess of £5m.
