I advise clients on impact finance transactions, with a particular focus on bringing an equitable and proportionate approach to investment processes and legal documentation to better enable investees to maximise impact. I work with development finance institutions, banks, investors, charities, not-for-profits, social entrepreneurs and purposeful businesses on finance and corporate structuring, commercial agreements and governance matters, to support both mission and commercial objectives.
Prior to joining Bates Wells in 2024, I worked as a finance lawyer at Linklaters LLP and was seconded to Plan International’s global legal team in 2022. My experience spans complex syndicated transactions and bilateral loans in the UK and internationally, including transactions across Europe, Africa, Asia and the US.
I bring a thoughtful, pragmatic and collaborative approach to my work, with a strong interest in how finance can be used to support sustainable development and empower mission-driven organisations.
- Advising lenders and borrowers on various financing arrangements including cross-border syndicated lending transactions and sustainability-linked financings.
- Advising Fair4All Finance on various wholesale financing and guarantee transactions with credit unions, banks and community development financial institutions to improve financial inclusion across the UK.
- Advising a non-profit impact investment fund on their unsecured debt investments.
- Advising charities, not-for-profits and mission-oriented businesses on a range of legal issues including structuring, establishment, incorporation and governance.
