Chetal Patel, partner in our Immigration Team, has taken part in the latest edition of Third Sector’s Updates series.

Speaking to Emily Burt, deputy editor of Third Sector, Chetal spoke on the subject of whether or not charities are ready to deal with the potential impact of Brexit on their immigration arrangements.

In a brief Q&A with the Updates’s presenters, Chetal points out that many charities have not conducted an audit of how compliant they are with the Home Office’s latest immigration requirements. Her advice is that charity leadership teams should audit their staff to understand who in their workforce is affected and that, thereafter, they should support these individuals in their efforts to address any specific immigration-related issues.

Chetal also covers the Migration Advisory Committee’s (MAC) launch of a new consultation which will look at potential salary thresholds which could be applied to the UK’s future immigration system. Chetal calls on all charities to make their voices heard by submitting a response before the consultation closes at 9am on 5 November.
